Principle of electrostatic spraying process: Use electrostatic powder spraying equipment to spray powder coating on the surface of the workpiece. Under the effect of static electricity, the powder will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powder coating. The powder coating is cured by high-temperature baking and leveling to become a final coating with different effects. The spraying effect is superior to the spray painting process in terms of mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance and aging resistance. Pretreatment /Preprocessing The quality of the pretreatment process directly affects the quality of the powder coating film, and the pretreatment is not good,which causes the coating film to fall off easily and blisters. Therefore, pre-processing must be taken seriously.
For sheet metal stamping parts, chemical pretreatment can be used. That is: oil removal → rust removal → cleaning → phosphating(or purification). Most of the rusted or thick surface workpieces are removed by mechanical methods such as sand blasting and shot blasting. However, after mechanical rust removal, ensure that the surface of the workpiece is clean and free of dirt.
Shaving putty. The conductive putty is scraped according to the degree of the defect of the workpiece, and it is smoothed with sandpaper after drying, and then the next process can be performed.Protection (also known as cover). If some parts of the workpiece are not required to be coated, it can be covered with protective
glue before preheating to avoid spraying paint.
Warm up. Generally no preheating is required. If a thicker coating is required, the workpiece can be preheated to 100-160 ° C,which can increase the coating thickness.Powder Spraying Booth& Supply Powder CenterThe workpiece enters the spray gun position of the powder spray room through the conveying chain and is ready for spraying operation. The electrostatic generator releases high-voltage static electricity (negative electrode) to the space in the direction of the workpiece through the electrode needle of the spray gun muzzle.
The mixture of powder and compressed air sprayed from the nozzle and the air around the electrode is ionized (negatively charged).
The workpiece passes through the hanger and passes through the conveying ground (ground electrode), so that an electric field powder is formed between the spray gun and the workpiece, and it is driven by the electric field force and the compressed air pressure to reach the workpiece surface.

In addition to conventional control of spraying line, our company has added unique and stable control functions: automatic identification of workpiece size, color, automatic error correction, alarm, automatic accurate temperature control to achieve energy-saving effect.Baking curing OvenThe sprayed workpiece is heated in the drying room at 180 ~ 200 ºC through the conveying chain, and kept for the corresponding time(15-20 minutes) to melt, level and solidify, so as to obtain the surface effect of the workpiece we want. (Different powders are different in baking temperature and time). This should be noted in the curing process.
Clean upAfter the coating is cured, remove the protection and smooth out the burrs.ExaminationAfter curing the workpiece, check the appearance (whether it is flat and bright, whether there are defects such as particles,shrinkage, etc.) and thickness (controlling 55 ~ 90μm). Rework or re-spray the detected workpieces with missing spray, pinholes,bumps, bubbles and other defects.
